Health and safety is an essential part of running a business and all persons who have a significant influence on management are responsible in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and its amendments. Contract Construction is firmly committed to implementing a policy that allows all work activities to be carried out safely. All feasible measures shall be taken for the health, safety and well-being of staff, contractors, visitors and the public. We work together and advise our employees, customers and visitors to achieve our goal of health and safety, creating a safe working environment for all. For each project, we create a specific special security plan (SSSP) for the approval of our customers. A comprehensive health and safety plan – and day-to-day implementation – ensures that we protect our team and our customers. A copy of a completed sample PPU can be provided upon request. All our subcontractors must undergo an accreditation procedure before they can carry out work on our site. Accreditation documents can be downloaded below. Our new color-encoded guides have been designed to help you get the most out of your SSSP packages and make sure you meet health and safety requirements.
A site-specific security plan (PPU) is a very effective communication tool. This is a critical part of the agreement between the parties and describes how health and safety is managed in a job. A PPU is developed by subcontractors and prime contractors to ensure that all relevant location information is available and updated regularly and that health and safety is regularly and consistently monitored. Good employers take the safety of the people who work for them seriously. A PPU improves communication and makes fieldwork more efficient and facilitates safety planning in the workplace. Site Safe has collaborated with industry to bring new color-coded SSSP guides to market. These free downloadable instructions explain the purpose, requirements, and use of each of the SSSP forms in your Whero (red), Kākāriki (green), or Kōwhai (yellow) to help you set up and maintain a safe job site. The SSSP can be downloaded for free here. If you need help, Site Safe has created a free “Plain Safe” help guide that guides you through each step. It is important that you complete the agreement first, as you may not have to fill out all nine forms. We have robust health and safety guidelines and procedures that are implemented throughout the company and on all our job sites.
